New beginnings; this piece marks the start of a new style of painting for Emily. Symbolizing the inner child and playfulness - “Daisy” in reference to the Brand New album signifies a time in her life when she began to question her family’s values and the birth of new thought. The messiness, tears, joy, and misunderstanding all piled beneath what appeared to be “a bed of daisies”.
